remeterslong,strikingroughlyperpendiculartothedykesimagedbyAngloPlatinumaeromagneticdata(Fig.).Fig.GPStracksoverlaidonaeromagneticdatashowingaknowndykeWewereonlyabletosurveymetersduetoapowerlineandthornsinthevegetation.Therewerealsonorth-southlinesthatwereconductedaftertheoriginalsurveyhadbeencompleted.Thesurveylinespacingwasmetersbetweeneachline.Wetookareadingeverymetersfortheentiremetersofthesurveyline.Abasestationmagnetometerwasalsooperatedtomeasurediurnalvariations,whichwasthenusedtocorrectourrawmagneticdata.DiurnalvariationistherepetitivevariationwithtimeintheEarth’smagneticfield(USGS).Everydayaftercollectingfielddatathegroupwouldprocessdata.ThisincludedcorrelatingtheGPSreadingswiththepositionofthemagnetometeratthetimethemeasurementwastaken,convertingthefieldvaluesintoMagD,andmakingaspreadsheetinExcel.ResultsOurmagneticsurveyfoundonemajormagneticdyke.Thisdykeislocate浪费太多时间和金钱。
